WASHINGTON – It’s official, the world’s largest radio telescope will be installed at Jodrell Bank Observatory, near Manchester, England.
Square kilometer Array (SKA), is a multinational science project worth 1.5 billion euros. The radio telescope will answer fundamental questions about the universe. Similarly, as quoted from the New Kerala, on Monday (04/04/2011).
SKA will connect a lot of radio antennas in a single region. Signals from these antennas will be combined for one giant telescope.
“Moving into the Jodrell very fitting, as this project grew from a concept into an international megasains project. The location and the new facility will support the significant expansion already planned,” said Professor Richard Schilizzi, CEO of the SKA project.
