Will’s Largest Radio Telescope in the UK Listed

Teleskop radio

WASHINGTON – It’s official, the world’s largest radio telescope will be installed at Jodrell Bank Observatory, near Manchester, England.
Square kilometer Array (SKA), is a multinational science project worth 1.5 billion euros. The radio telescope will answer fundamental questions about the universe. Similarly, as quoted from the New Kerala, on Monday (04/04/2011).
SKA will connect a lot of radio antennas in a single region. Signals from these antennas will be combined for one giant telescope.
“Moving into the Jodrell very fitting, as this project grew from a concept into an international megasains project. The location and the new facility will support the significant expansion already planned,” said Professor Richard Schilizzi, CEO of the SKA project.

“Square kilometer array is a global project. Installation of the largest telescope is good news for the Jodrell Bank, Manchester University, and the UK in general,” said David Willetts, Minister for Universities and Science in English.
“It’s nice to see the progress of construction of the SKA project, one of our main priorities for the world of astronomy. University of Cambridge, Oxford and Manchester will work with ACS to global research on the universe,” said Professor John Womersley, chairman of the board of directors SKA.
Radio telescope is a form of direct radio antenna used in radio astronomy. The same type of antenna used to track and collect data from satellites and other celestial bodies.
